Information
The Microglial and Neuroinflammation Thematic Network is pleased to announce that it will be organizing its 2nd Workshop "Microglia: from gene to function" at the Bordeaux Neuroschool (https://www.bordeaux-neurocampus.fr/en/who-are-we-bordeaux-neurocampus/school-of-neuroscience/) from November 3 to 7, 2025. This workshop stands out this year with a novel approach: the three workshops will converge around a common scientific project aimed at deciphering the synthesis of IL-1β by myeloid cells in the brain, thanks to the use of a biosensor mouse.
Dedicated to young researchers (PhD; Junior Post-Docs; Junior Engineers), the workshop will bring together 20 participants and will consist of three 2-day practical workshops, led by 11 researchers from the GDR, specialists in these approaches. The themes chosen for the workshops are:
Ex-vivo and in-vivo imaging Objective: Acquire images using a two-photon microscope, learn to analyze the morphology and dynamics of microglia Technological approaches: Ex vivo and in vivo two-photon microscopy Flow cytometry Objective: Learn to immunophenotype the brain's immune cells (microglia, Border Associated Macrophages) Techniques: Preparation of immune cells from the brain and meninges and analysis by cytometry. Transcriptomics Objective: Generate and analyze scRNA-seq data Approaches: scRNAseq: from sample preparation to library preparation; Step-by-step analysis of a scRNA-seq dataset using the SEURAT package
Each participant will be able to participate in 2 of the 3 workshops, with a ranking of the three workshops in order of preference requested during pre-registration. Friday afternoon will be devoted to the presentation of the results obtained in the three workshops and will be an opportunity to discuss the 3 themes covered.
